Obstacles To Healthy Eating Habits

Some of the habits that were in my way to achieving my healthy eating goals was the availability of the unhealthy foods conveniently within reach.

  1. Soda in the fridge
  2. A carton of biscuits in the pantry
  3. Weekly snacks stock-up of chocolates, scones, cookies
  4. Weekend new recipes of pastries
  5. Ice cream in the freezer
  6. Regular eating and continuous snacking

For me to maintain my healthy eating goals this year, I had to make changes in my approach to food.

Some of the behavioral reinforcements I have had to make this year includes;

  1. No stocking of sodas, ice cream or packet juices – if they are not available I wouldn’t consume them
  2. I bought a 1.2litre water bottle that I keep refilled
  3. No more stocking of biscuits – instead I buy popcorns for snacking
  4. I eat meals on schedule – on 3 hour interval
  5. I still try new pastry recipes but for healthy snacks like oat cookies
  6. I snack mainly on fruits or nuts on schedule
