Should you eat fats?

Fats, just as carbohydrates and protein are macronutrients needed in large quantities daily to support the body’s normal functioning and to support additional physical activity.

Fats are necessary part of a balanced diet for the following reasons :
????They store and help use the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K
????They maintain the function and integrity of cellular membranes
????They provide a concentrated source of energy during exercise
????Protective padding for body structures and organs
????Bodyfat stored for insulation and temperature regulation
????They make meals more palatable and filling
????Healthy skin and hair

Optimal health comes from the right balance between all three macronutrients.

Choose foods with more unsaturated fats like avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil and reduce fats from animal products by eating lean meat, low fat or skimmed milk, skinless chicken
